LOCATION
Rendlesham is a well-established and expanding village about 15 miles north east of Ipswich, situated between Woodbridge and Snape and close to the area known as the Suffolk Heritage Coast.

Rendlesham had a population just in excess of 3,000 and a wider catchment of around 3,700 (2011 Census), further residential development since then has now been completed and there are plans for more residential development within the next few years.

Both sites are situated within an area known as “The District Centre” in which there is presently a new primary school, a new community centre and a convenience store with an adjoining small parade of individual shops units.

DESCRIPTION AND SERVICES
The sites comprise predominantly level bare land, as the original buildings have been demolished. All main services were previously connected to these buildings.

PLANNING
The sites are located within The District Centre as identified within the Rendlesham Neighbourhood Plan which sets out the approved uses as below:
“Redevelopment or change of use of existing or established public buildings and/or key facilities will be supported provided that the redevelopment or change of use is for either leisure, education, retail or community use.

Proposals for redevelopment or change of use involving employment development will be supported provided that they maintain or enhance the existing or established leisure, education, retail or community uses and future needs thereof.

Proposals for redevelopment or change of use involving residential development will only be permitted where they maintain or enhance the existing or established employment, leisure, education, retail or community uses and future needs thereof.”

VIEWING
Both sites can be viewed from their boundaries without prior appointment.
